Weekend Workshops
Makers & Clay Weekend Workshops offer a hands-on way to explore ceramics in a focused, guided session. These workshops rotate throughout the year, introducing new projects that explore both functional and sculptural forms.
These sessions provide plenty of time to work on a project while learning essential handbuilding techniques. They’re also the most affordable way to get started with ceramics at the studio, making them a great option for those who want to try pottery without committing to a multi-week class. Workshops are open to both beginners and those with prior experience working with clay. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing solo activity or something fun to do with friends and family, these workshops offer a welcoming and creative environment.
Since workshops change regularly, check back often to see what’s coming up next.
Find your next Weekend Workshop here on our Classes and Workshops page.
4-Week Classes
Our 4-week classes provide a structured approach to building foundational ceramic skills, whether you’re learning wheel throwing or handbuilding. All beginner-level courses are designed to be repeated, allowing students to refine their techniques before moving on to more advanced forms.
For those starting on the wheel, our Beginning Wheel program is designed in progressive levels. Beginning Wheel 1 focuses on mastering the basic cylinder, the foundation for most wheel-thrown pottery. We encourage students to take the time to build confidence with this form before progressing to more complex shapes. Beginning Wheel 2 focuses on bowls, and Beginning Wheel 3 focuses on shaping techniques, including achieving curves and angular forms.
With the guidance of knowledgeable instructors, students develop the skills they need to continue learning—whether at our studio or beyond.
